Scribble on your stamp blocks!

To spray or not to spray, that was this morning's question.  I was up at an obscene hour this morning. I got woken up and just couldn't go back to sleep. I took the opportunity to head down into my stamp room and get crafty.

I enjoy stamping and creating unique backgrounds. Today I decided to use my stamp blocks to create a splotchy, watercolor background.  It's fun, colorful and EASY to do with your Stampin' Write markers.

The process is really quite simple. Grab a stamp block, any size, and your favorite Stampin' Write marker.  Scribble.  Now comes the decision point, to spray or not to spray.  In the card photo, the card on the left was not sprayed...scribble, stamp, next. For the card on the right, the block was spritzed with water...scribble, spray, stamp, next.  Totally simple, right?  I don't think one is any better or worse than the other but more a matter of preference.

The stamp set used here is Another Thank You, a new photopolymer set available in the 2014-2015 Idea Book and Catalog. My colors (that I picked to wake myself up) are Island Indigo, Rose Red, Crushed Curry and Elegant Eggplant.  Go scribble on your stamp blocks. It's fun!

Welcome Claire 12"x12" Framed Picture

I'm an auntie again!  My sister and her husband welcomed little Miss Claire Olivia to their family on May 22.  I'm over the moon in love with her precious little face!  She's the first girl in our family. I'm feeling a whole lot of spoiling going on :)

I held off on buying too much frilly pink baby gear before Claire was born. I knew once I started I wouldn't stop! But, everybody is sending cute little outfits.  Auntie needed to delivery something unique. Pinterest here I come! Totally inspired by many pins (visit my Stampin' Up! board) I came up with this awesome 12"x12" framed print.  My sister is using Wisteria Wonder (my favorite SU! color) to make her announcements and the baby's layette is lavender themed. I found some Afternoon Picnic DSP and went to town. I fell in love with the bird element and the L"ove" square I found on Pinterest so they made their way into our project.  Butterflies (my signature element), flowers and hearts make up the rest.

My measurements = Individual Square Mats (Basic Gray) - 3.5" square
Designer Series Paper - 3.375" square
Alphabet - 3" high
Outside squares are placed .5" away from the edge with .25" between the inside squares.

I'm kind of thinking I want to make one of these for myself! Good thing the frames were buy one, get one free...I've got one waiting for me! Class, maybe??

Birthday Blocks

Sometimes the best cards are the simplest. I was playing with my In Colors to make a quick birthday card.  This particular gem was made with what I'll call "Block Stamping". I simply inked up my clear mount blocks and used it as my stamp. I feminized this one with a flower stem from Thoughts & Prayers and a little fork bow made from some of the new In Color ribbon but I think this block stamping method would be a great way to rip through some guy cards. I think I'll work on that.

Happy Stamping!

Scrapin' with Sea Street

This is like a double sneak peek.  It's not only a sneak peek for the Sea Street stamp set from the 2014-2015 Stampin' Up! Idea Book and Catalog but it's also a sneak peek for my June scrapbook class. As soon as I started playing with this stamp set I had a vision of an under the sea, beach scene scrapbook layout.  This is just one little bit of fun that this class has in store!

The fun of this page really lies in the cool vellum overlay. Schools of multi colored little fishies, a hill of starfish and a sunken anchor are all tempered by the frosted glow of the vellum. (Do you like that...frosted glow?) The matching page has an "Under The Sea" title that's super cute and made from the MyDigitalStudio Timeless Type alphabet and my e-cutter.  You'll see that page eventually but for now, you're going to have to be patient...or sign up for my class!

Two options for this class...live or virtual! On Monday, June 16 we will complete three two-page layouts with Sea Street being the focal point.  We will integrate basic stamping, punch art, and a variety of simple techniques to create six fun pages. To learn more about taking this awesome class, email me or visit my Meetup page to register!

Blendabilities Girlfriends

Meet my new girlfriends.  I haven't named them yet but I can already tell we're going to be seeing a lot of each other.  They like the same things I do...martinis, shopping and martinis. They love to stamp. They totally "get me." And don't they look great in their Blendabilities dresses?
Continuing my love of Stampin' Blendabilities.  I really can't get enough of these markers. I think I deserve some props for branching out from "the flower" as my family is now calling it. I wanted to do something fun with the girls and I thought these cards fit the bill. In This Together is the name of this new Stampin' Up! set scheduled to launch on June 2 with the 2014-2015 catalog. They are great images to practice using your Blendabilities.

Want your own Stampin Blendabilities RIGHT NOW? Join my Korner Krazy Stampers team and select $125 in Stampin' Up! merchandise of your choice for just $99. That merchandise bundle can include all of the currently available Stampin Blendabilities markers. PLUS you will get 30% off your next order and a 20% discount all the time. It's a great deal for all you Krazy Stampers out there. Click the link at the top of the page or just click right here to get started!

Until next time, Happy Stamping!

Noodle Head Cometh

"It's better than a Stamp-A-Stack," says my sister.  I wanted to take a quick shot of the card I mocked up for her last night and realized the pile I put together for her to take home was a whole lot like a S-A-S on steroids.  Good thing I didn't have anything else to work on :)
It's all good, tho.  My little Noodle Head is going to make her appearance into the world in a week.  She'll be the first girl in our family and (very very VERY likely) the last grandchild for my parents.  Clear this up quickly, it's my sister who's having the baby, not me!  LOL  My 19 year old would stroke :-)  Brandi is getting a little ahead of the game and making her thank you notes now.  For some reason she things she's going to be too busy to make them AFTER the baby.  I can't imagine why??
As soon as I saw the Something For Baby set at the catalog premier, I said to my friend Patty, "My sister is going to LOVE this set". Like any good sister would, I added the stamp set and matching framelits to my pre-order. Sure enough, she loved it and we have thank you cards.  Her color for this baby is Wisteria Wonder.  Long time followers will remember our obsession with Brocade Blue for my nephew.  I had a lot of fun working on this layout.  I'm not a girly pink kinda girl so my favorite color being used for my favorite person's new person made me super duper happy!!

And now I have to clean up!
P.S. I would have totally made these for her over the weekend but she wanted to take everything home to make them herself. A last stamping hurrah for a while??  I can't wait to meet my new Noodle Head!

Happy Mom and Endless Birthday Wishes Class

Did we really think I was going to stay away from Stampin' Blendabilities for long??  Come on now.  I'm obsessed. I really am enjoying this Blended Bloom stamp set, too. I will move on eventually but for now, I'm having the time of my life learning to really enjoy my markers using this stamp set!
This is the card I made for my mama for Mothers Day.  Her favorite color is red so that's why the Cherry Cobbler flower got center stage.  By using a simple masking technique I was able to get some really lovely dimension with the flowers. Masking is something I often forget about.  It was literally the very first technique I learned when I attended my first SU! party many many years ago.

Ok, so one other thing I want to mention is the release of a brand new photopolymer stamp set called Endless Birthday Wishes.  When a similar set was released at Christmas time it SOLD OUT FAST!  I've already ordered mine.  Click here to get yours! OR Join my birthday card class featuring this stellar set! For just $18 you'll receive:

* Endless Birthday Wishes Photopolymer Stamp Set
*5 projects featuring this awesome stamp set
Registration for this class is on my Meetup page. Click here to register today!

Happy Stamping!!

Greetings from Sea Street

Confession...when I went to take this photo I had to use my sleeve to move the dust off of my table. I've never been accused of being a decent housekeeper. My skills lie in other areas. At least that's the story I'm going with.

I wanted to play a little bit with some of the other new pre-order products I received aside from the Blendabilities. Don't get me wrong, I love the new markers but my new stamps aren't getting any love. So for your stamping pleasure, meet Sea Street. Totally outside my normal collection of images, I think this little octopus and his friends have some potential. I always have trouble with birthday cards for guys. I think this one works quite well. I want to do more with that adorable little lobster and his crabby friend (you haven't met him yet.) I have a scrapbook layout working in my head for this set, too. If I can figure out how to make really cool sand I think I'm in business.

The greeting comes from Sassy Salutations. The Designer Series Paper is also from the sneak peek but darned if I can remember the name. It coordinates with Sea Street so it won't be hard to spot in the catalog :) Colors used are Real Red, Coastal Cabana, Night of Navy and a little Pumpkin Pie for the goldfish accents.

Shake 'n Sniff Cards

I've loved shaker cards since I was a kid.  It's so much fun to see that little something extra floating around in your card.  Stampin' Up! has made it SOOOO easy for us to make beautiful shaker cards by giving us Shaker Frames.  In today's video tutorial (the first one I've done in a VERY long time) I am going to show you how to make a very cool Shake 'n Sniff card using my favorite Pink Zebra Sprinkles and our awesome Shaker Frames.
Super cool and easy, right??  Let me know what you think in the comments.  If you make some of your own, I'd love to see them!  Want some but don't want to make them yourself? Visit my Etsy shop and I'll gladly make them for you.

Happy Stamping!

Mixing up the color

Yes, this is a little more Rainbow Bright than anything I would call "usable" but it serves a purpose. I had a dream about my Stampin' Blendabilities last night and I just had to try it first thing this morning. In my post last week about the Blendabilities I showed samples of how the light, medium, and dark markers of each color set worked together to create beautiful gradation and blended color. What happens when you start to mix the colors?? Well, if you're me at 7 am you get this crazy rainbow of flavor :)
Clearly, I was in a little bit of a hurry but what I learned is that the possibilities with Stampin' Blendabilities are endless! My favorite combinations (so far) are Cherry Cobbler with Pumpkin Pie (top center) and Costal Cabana with Elegant Eggplant (right center).  I probably won't be attempting to blend Rich Razzelberry with Old Olive again anytime soon (you find it!)
Can't wait to play some more. Will be excited to mix and blend something I can put on a card :)

2014-15 In Colors have stolen my heart

It's certainly no secret. I haven't stamped much in a loooooong time. 2014 sucked the stamping life right out of me. When you see a couple thousand dollars worth of stamps & inks and papers floating through your basement it becomes a daunting thought to rebuild it all especially with a broken arm and busted pipes and all the other drama that was 2014 ...but we have. The last year has definitely been a journey for me in trying to figure out what makes me happy and where I wanted to spend my energy.  I rid myself of those who were causing me negativity and filled my life with positive people. I painted my basement with Wisteria Wonder (because it makes me happy) and I got there it down there and started stampin' again!

Especially lately I have to get a lot of credit to Stampin Up in helping me renew my love of all things paper. When I went with my friend patty to the 2014-2015 catalog premiere party, I completely fell in love with the new catalog, the new products, and the new in colors. This is by far the greatest new catalog I have seen in all the years I've been a Stampin Up demonstrator. I got home with my new catalog and started drawing pictures and thinking of all the great things I can make with the new colors and stamps in the catalog. I have spent more time in my stamp room in the last week and I have spent in my room in the last year. I love it!

At the new catalog premier we received a free stamp set. Work Of Art is coming to a catalog near you on June 1st. I really had a good time playing with a stamp set and creating all sorts of neat new designs. This stamp set is all about fun whispy watercolor images.  I grabbed some inspiration from Pinterest to create this card. I use all of the new in colors on watercolor paper. I absolutely love the look of this card.
Expect to see some more creations from me over time. I might not be the best blogger but I'm definitely back in my stamp room. I'm very excited to be back on this journey of creativity. I hope you'll join me in renewing your creativity and stamp with me sometime soon. I miss my stampin' friends. Thanks for taking me back!

Stampin' Blendabilities

The Stampin' Blendabilities markers may just be one of the most talked about and anticipated new products in the 2014 2015 Stampin Up catalog. These alcohol markers make it easy to shape and color your favorite images unlike any other marker Stampin Up has ever provided. I've had so much fun playing with these new markers. They are only available now to demonstrators but will be made available to all customers when the new catalog launches on June 1.
Because so many of you have already asked for instruction, I am offering a special instructional class on Thursday, June 12 at 7 pm. In this Stampin Blendabilities class you'll receive one set of Stampin Blendabilities markers (in your choice of color), a Memento ink pad, and the Blended Bloom stamp set. You will receive a written sheet of tips and tricks on how to use your new Stampin Blendabilities markers as well as make four projects that will make you an expert and using this wonderful new coloring tool.
During this class we will have a special Stampin Blendabilities ordering discount eligible for class day only. Bring a friend who is new to KellI's Korner and receive your choice of Stampin Blendabilities markers for half price!
All registrations must be received and paid for no later than June 2nd in order to allow ample time for product ordering and delivery. Cancellations after this date may not be refunded due to the product based nature of this class.
To register for this super cool class, go to my Meetup page  or email me.
