Yes, I know. Nobody wants to think about Christmas, much less, winter at this point in time. I feel like we've barely even had a summer! That said, it really is time for the crafty-hearted folks to start thinking about their holiday crafting. Every year around the middle of December I find myself rushing to get my holiday cards MADE and out the door. I always say, "Next year I'm going to get these done early." THIS YEAR is my year. (Never heard that from a Cubs fan before, have ya?)
On Saturday, August 16 and Monday, August 18 I will be offering the "Getting ready for Christmas without a Christmas stamp set" class. Join me to make 20 cards, all holiday themed, without using one single stamp that comes in a "holiday themed" stamp set.
These cards are quick and easy, appropriate for all skill levels, but each has a certain zing that catches your attention and gets that little "ah ha" moment!

Bring a friend who is new to Kelli's Korner and you will both get matching envelopes included in your class for FREE!

Dominos are not just for playing games!
We're having a party on Saturday. It's just a little open house for our family and friends. One of those "drop by for a bit, say hi, and carry on" kinds of parties. Not a major shindig but I did want to make a little something for everyone who comes by. It's kind of my way of saying thanks for taking time out of your busy holiday schedule to spend time in my home. I introduce my dominos!
Seriously one of the easiest things I've ever made. Stamp your favorite image with Staz-On ink on the back of a standard domino. Staz-On is permanent without heat setting making it a perfect medium for this project. Then use some permanent, fine tip markers to add a ltittle dazzle and color to each one. Finish off the ornament by wrapping Sticky Strip completely around the edges of the domino. Then use some form of 3/8" ribbon (I REALLY like the 2011-2013 In Color Ribbon for this) to wrap around, being sure to leave long ends to hang your ornament.
These are really easy and quick ornaments to make. We did this project during one of my stamp club meetings in November and the girls went gaga over them. If you're looking for a quick, easy and inexpensive project, this may just be a winner!

Oh, I actually have to send my cards??
I'm sitting here picking at my lunch going over my to do list and realized...I actually have to send these cards to people for Christmas if I want them to actually feel them, touch them, hang them up and know I love them. Adding an item to my to do list that says "gather addresses". That will be a very helpful step in checking off "send cards" from the list.
This is one of the cards from one of the many Christmas Stamp-A-Stacks we had in my little korner of the world. I saw a smilar design somewhere out on the world wide web. Sorry, I don't know where but happy to post a link if you are the creator of the idea. I thought it was super cute. Just thought I'd share.
